William Costa, founder of Sinapse
Sinapse

Created by someone who has been on the other side of the partnership.

We know the distributor's responsibility because we have carried it ourselves. Sinapse was born to build a different kind of relationship in the medical device market, with the distributor at the center.

The origin

The story behind the model.

Before Sinapse existed as a supplier, its founder lived this from the distributor's side. It was there, in the routine of opening hospitals, building a team, financing inventory and sustaining the relationship with the surgeon, that it became clear where the market tilts: the one who carries the risk is rarely the one who ends up protected.

We know the distributor's responsibility because we have carried that responsibility ourselves.

William Costa worked as a medical device distributor before founding Sinapse. He lived through margin pressure, rules that change mid-game and the insecurity of depending on a supplier that could, at any moment, move in on the market he had built himself. Sinapse was created so that this never happens to anyone else.

The reason

The imbalance that gave rise to Sinapse.

Three patterns that repeat across the medical device market and that our model was designed not to reproduce.

01

The people who build the market are the ones left most exposed

The distributor opens the hospital, trains the team, finances the inventory and sustains the surgeon's trust. Even so, it is their operation that feels any change of rules first. The effort sits on one side and the security on the other.

02

The supplier becomes a competitor

As a market matures, it is common for the industry to approach the hospital and the surgeon directly. The relationship that took years to build ends up contested by the very party that should be on the same side of the table.

03

Support that ends at the first sale

After the first order, technical support cools off and the distributor is left alone to sustain the clinical conversation, the documentation and the post-operative follow-up. Growing, in that scenario, means taking on more risk without gaining more support.

Purpose 03 / 06

Technology that gives back movement back to life.

Behind every plate, screw, nail or cage there is someone walking again, working again and living without pain. That outcome is what guides what Sinapse chooses to bring to market.

Mission, vision and values

A structural decision, not a campaign promise.

The Sinapse operating model comes before the messaging: it defines who we talk to, how we price and what we prioritize day to day.

Operating model: a single channel

The distributor is Sinapse's only channel. We do not sell directly to the hospital or to the surgeon, and we do not compete with distributors. The one who brings the technology into the OR is always the partner's operation.

Mission

To bring reliable surgical technology to the surgeon while strengthening the distributor, with competitive pricing, documentation in order and technical support that does not stop at the first sale.

Vision

To be the partnership the medical device distributor trusts in order to grow: the one that respects the market they built and sustains that growth over the long term.

Values

What we do not compromise on, and what any partner can hold us to:

  • Respect for the distributor's market
  • Clear, stable rules
  • Technical responsibility
  • Closeness and direct access
  • Transparency before the sale
A culture of partnership

A lean structure, answers at the speed surgery demands.

Sinapse was built to stay close. No layers between the partner and the decision-maker, and with technical responsibility shared, not outsourced.

  • Direct access to the decision-maker
  • Technical training for the team
  • Support entering hospitals
  • Technical documentation, organized
  • Trauma, Spine and Pain portfolio
  • Transparency before closing

Foundation of trust

Surgical technology demands proof, not adjectives.

Registration, sourcing and traceability are not selling points: they are the minimum condition for placing an implant in an operating room.

  • ANVISA registration
  • Verified sourcing
  • Traceability by lot
  • Complete technical dossier
